About the job
For the City Hotel Hengelo we are looking for a full-time Host Intern. You will join a dynamic team that is eager to share knowledge and experience with you. As a Host Intern you will work in all departments and you will be the contact person for guests and the face of the hotel.
What will you be doing?
You are the point of contact for our guests and provide them with all the information they need. You will help prepare and serve breakfast and in the evenings you will assist in the bar. You help guests check in, tell them which highlights they really shouldn't skip. In between you get a call from a guest who would like to reserve a room for next week. No problem, you arrange it! The next guests check out with you. You are wildly curious about how they experienced their stay. You take the guests' suitcases, so they can go back into town. They indicate that they will come back again soon. That's what you do it for!
You are a jack of all trades and get serious energy from varied work.

In the center of Hengelo, you will find City Hotel Hengelo, a hotel with 100 hotel rooms, a breakfast restaurant, a bar, and 4 meeting rooms. We are a close-knit relatively small, enthusiastic, and passionate team. We are known for our exceptional friendliness and service. Whenever possible, we like to at a little twist that makes you laugh or think for a moment. Our number one value is to be kind to each other and the guests, just act normal and be yourself! Everyone feels at home.

Who are you?
- You enjoy working as part of a team but can also work independently.
- You are flexible and take initiative whenever possible.
- You are a real go-getter, eager to learn and enthusiastic for the job
- You are a student at the ''Middelbare Hotelschool, Luchtvaartdienstverlening or Leisure and Tourism'' or a comparable study
- You speak fluent Dutch and English. Do you also speak French, German or Spanish? That will make us even happier!
- You have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- You live in the Hengelo area.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU (ADDITIONAL TO A GREAT TEAM)?
- As a HBO student you will receive an internship fee based on €750,- gross per month fulltime, which consists of a €650,- internship fee and an €80,- expense fee. We use variable payment periods of 4 or 5 weeks at a time, according to the number of days and hours worked. So one month you will get a little less and the next month a little more.
